Christmas Fayre - Friday 7th December
Many thanks to all who supported this years Christmas Fayre. It was yet again, another successful PTA event. We took a fantastic total of £776, which will be used to support the children of Thameside Primary school, in various ways.
The donations that we receive, the help in preparing and setting up and manning stalls on the day, are all vital in making our events enjoyable and successful.
We would like to make a special mention to the Stepping Stones team, based in the school who along with two helping elves from 5L, created a magical and enchanting Santa’s Grotto. The creativity and imagination used by you all, was fantastic. The Santa’s Grotto was amazing. All of your hard work certainly paid off.
We look forward to organising future events.
If you think you would like to join our team and make a difference, pop along to our next PTA meeting, which will be arranged for January. Look out for the date, which will be advertised after the Christmas holiday.
Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Christmas.
Friends of Thameside PTA
Generally, our meetings take place once a month on Thursdays from 2:30pm, although this can be more regular when organising an event. As everybody's lifestyle is different we understand that at times you might not be able to attend a meeting so we make sure that anyone who isn't able to make it is kept up-to-date with information.
Being on the PTA doesn't have to be a full time job and we welcome and appreciate any input. We have members who are not often able to attend meetings of events, but who do a lot of work behind the scenes, whether it be making phone calls, shopping for and ordering equipment, or doing a little bit of research to help with organising events. Any help we receive really does make a difference.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
Chair of Friends of Thameside/PTA
Hi, my name is Cheryll Watt and I am the Chair of Friends of Thameside/PTA.
I have been a parent at Thameside Primary School for 10 years.
Being a member of the PTA allows you to get to know school staff members on a familiar basis. It is a good way to get your face known and meet other parents. Every parent or carer that joins the PTA have all got one thing in common - improving the school for the benefit of its pupils. The PTA are a big part of the school community and are great at getting families together.
