Thameside Primary School is currently undergoing an exciting £2.6 million build to accommodate our ever growing number of pupils as we become a four form entry school.
April 2015 As school places in Thurrock became somewhat scarce, Thameside is approached by the LA for expansion to four form entry. Year 3 become the first year group to take on a fourth class and three demountables are built at the back of the school to accommodate the extra pupils.
September 2015 The move into four form entry continues in
Year 2 and Reception, in addition to the extra class that already
exists in Year 4. The LA commission the remodeling of the
library and the old library is converted into a new classroom
for Reception. An extra demountable is also built at the back
of the lower school to accommodate the extra Year 2 class.
November 2015 The LA planning committee meet to
consider the expansion plans for Thameside. A working group
is formed at the school consisting of LA representatives, SLT staff
and architect Gawain Ferguson of Huggins Bromage Ferguson LLP.
The plans are approved.
January 2016 The working group continues to meet and the
contract is opened to bidding by the LA. By the end of the month,
HW Wilson have been awarded the contract and the news is made
February 2016 Work began at the beginning of February, due for completion by the start of the new academic year in September 2016. Four forms of entry will be rolled out across the school, with a total number of 900 pupils expected to be on roll.

H W Wilson Limited have now completed the works to Thameside Primary School, and felt very proud to attend the grand opening, this Friday 28th April 2017.
We would like to express our thanks to all the staff, students and you the parents for bearing with us through the challenges of building six new classrooms, refurbishing a whole school, & creating a new entrance, all while the school stays completely open and all the children remained safe and never missed a day of learning.
We will miss Thameside school, but we leave it knowing that we have helped to create something that the children will enjoy for years to come.
